la Sagrada Familia

Basílica de la Sagrada Familia is truly one of my favorite sights in Barcelona. I’ve been there four times already and it still never ceases to take my breath away…

I remember the first time I saw the Sagrada Familia…. from the outside I was completely blown away. I couldn’t stop looking, it was just so beautiful. There were so many intricacies, I just stood there staring and staring…I swear you could spend hours looking at it, and still feel like you haven’t seen it all.

It is truly a masterpiece, like nothing I have ever seen before. And still, it’s not even finished….

The outside is so beautiful and breathtaking you don’t think it can be any more beautiful… and then you step inside… and WOW

From the high ceilings to the colorful windows it’s just simply magical. As you walk through the inside of the basilica you here soft music playing through discreet speakers, it makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to this out of world place. The ceilings go up and up and up seemingly reaching up towards the sky.

Then there’s the windows, stained glass in every color you can imagine. When Antonio Gaudí designed Sagrada familia, he designed it right. The way the light flows through the glass, and the colors it brings with it.. it leaves you speechless (well at least for me it did).

Honestly, for me Sagrada Familia is a the top of my list of things to do and see in Barcelona. It’s like nothing else you’ve ever seen before, and the feeling it leaves you with… well, that’s a memory that will stay with you forever.
