Hi! My name is Sam & I’ve been lucky enough to have the chance to live abroad (twice!!). I was living in Barcelona, Spain from August 2014 until July 2016. Currently I call Bogota, Colombia home.

During all my time living abroad I’ve gotten the opportunity to travel to some incredible places and experience some amazing things! I finally decided that it was time to share some photos & stories from these experiences and places.

Now that I’m living abroad in my second country & have traveled to 12+ countries & countless different cities, I’ve decided that I have enough stories and way too many photo so maybe it’s time to share….

There’s so many people that I would love to be able to share my photos, stories and experiences with…. but sometimes the distance (& time difference) makes that slightly difficult. So here will be the place…. follow along with my adventures!

xoxo

Sam

  1. Hi Sam, thank you for stopping by my blog so I could discover yours! I love the photos and the places. I’m so happy that I started blogging so I could find all these amazing people with so much traveling experiences. It’s like finding kindred spirits, a family of passion in a way.

  2. Hi Sam,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m glad you liked my post. 🙂
Just curious, how do you manage to actually live in those other countries?
It has been a dream of mine for ages to be able to move to another country. So far, I have not been able to figure out how to support myself. Can’t get a work visa so can’t legally even try to find a job. Getting too old to take chances working under the table (I don’t want to risk getting deported).
Any ideas? Helpful hints? Or should I just keep dreaming til I get old enough to ‘retire’?

    1. I got lucky!!! Right now I have a partner visa to live in Colombia (my partner is Colombian!). In Barcelona I was studying a masters so I was there on a student visa. A student visa is a good option, you could sign up for a language course and get a student visa through that. It depends on the country… each country offers different things. Look as much as you can … & never give up on your dream!!

      Xxx

    1. It came through … there’s some sort of problem with my blog host… working on fixing it now 😊😊❤️❤️

  3. Hi Sam! I like your blog….. How do you get posts on the home page and under a parent page?! It’s so confusing. I lived in Colombia too though! Medellin… Bogota seems to have more going on but Medellin is just GORGEOUS!! Don’t forget to paraglide 😉

  4. Hello Sam,
I just wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the Liebster Award, I am not sure if you have been nominated before but you are one of the bloggers that I admire and look to for inspiration so I wanted to share this with you!

Thank you for being an inspiration!
    Sincerely,
    Chasing Krista

  5. They there! Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂

The first thing i saw were your posts, which didn’t seem quite like the way i travel — but then i checked out your about me tab and realized that you’re a fellow nomad and we might actually have a lot more in common!

Keep up with it! I wish i had started writing back when i first moved abroad also, like you’ve been doing, rather than just after i started traveling full time.

  6. You are very fortunate to live abroad and to see how people live in different places. Thank you for following Oh, the Places We See. We hope you enjoy our photos of our travels — mostly in the U.S. but really all over as we try to go as much as we can.
